Children s voluntary organisations in Wales published a 'children s manifesto' in the run up to the National Assembly elections in 2003. The manifesto called on the Assembly to take action on 20 points, including establishing and implementing a plan to eradicate child poverty, undertaking a systematic and regular analysis of children s well-being, and ensuring that therapeutic services are available in every local authority area in Wales.

The '4 Nations Child Policy Network' was launched - a joint partnership project between Child Care Northern Ireland, Children in Scotland, Children in Wales and the National Children's Bureau in England. The network offers information on issues relating to children in all parts of the United Kingdom, and provides a website and monthly publication.
